Dear friends!

The Vladimir Salnikov Cup 2009 ended with a magnificent WORLD RECORD, set by our fine swimmers Stanislav Donets, Evgeny Korotyshkin, Sergei Geibel and Danila Izotov. They won the 4x100 m relay with a time of 3:19:16.

Five Russian records were established as well as a new European record! All thanks to the phenomenal efforts of our participants Veronika Popova, Svetlana Fedulova, Irina Bespalova and Sergei Fesikov, as well as a well-earned victory from the Danish athlete Rikke Moeller Pedersen.

And of course I should like to mention the splendid results achieved by the Cup’s biggest winners, Arkady Vyatchanin and Therese Alshammar. They are the stars of competitive swimming today and fully earned their uniquely crafted silver shark-figurines.

But in my opinion, the main achievement remains the athletic fire, the pull to victory, the sporting atmosphere and the sheer drive, tangible in the atmosphere to the athletes, honoured guests and spectators.

Once more, I’d like to thank St Petersburg’s Governor, Valentina Matvienko, and the director of the RF Presidential Administration / President of the Russian National Swimming Federation’s Supervisory Board, Sergei Naryshkin, for their genuine and sincere participation and support shown to the Salnikov Cup international competitions.

The Cup looks forward to bringing the world’s strongest swimmers together again in 2010!  We wish you good luck, excellent results and new victories in the year ahead!

Sincerely yours, Vladimir Salnikov.

URGENT - 28/12/2009! Dear Tournament Victors,

Please accept our sincerest apologies for the delay incurred in the transfer by the bank of your prize monies to your accounts. The procedure for checking the documentation as supplied by the Organising Committee to the bank, for the opening of individual bank accounts, incurred delays, for which we are deeply sorry.

We have been in direct contact with the bank with a view to speeding up their internal processes as much as possible, and have been assured that the problem should be solved within the next couple of days.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

The Organising Committee.
